General Questions

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) to freeze and permanently eliminate stubborn fat cells without surgery, needles, or downtime.

How does CoolSculpting work?

Fat cells are more sensitive to cold than surrounding tissues. CoolSculpting safely freezes fat cells, causing them to crystallize and break down. Over the next few weeks, your body naturally processes and eliminates them.

Is CoolSculpting a weight-loss treatment?

No. CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss solution. It is a fat-reduction and body-shaping treatment used to target specific areas of stubborn fat.

Candidacy

Who is a good candidate?

  • People close to their ideal weight
  • Those with pinchable, stubborn fat areas
  • Individuals who want non-surgical contouring
  • Patients with realistic expectations

Who should NOT do CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is not recommended for those with:

  • Cryoglobulinemia
  • Paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria
  • Cold agglutinin disease
  • Hernias or recent surgeries in the treatment area

Pregnant individuals should avoid treatment.

Treatment Areas

What areas can CoolSculpting treat?

  • Abdomen
  • Flanks (“love handles”)
  • Inner & outer thighs
  • Upper arms
  • Back fat / bra bulge
  • Chin & jawline
  • Banana roll (below buttocks)
  • Male chest (non-glandular fat)

During the Treatment

Does CoolSculpting hurt?

You may feel pulling, pressure, cold, tingling, or mild stinging for the first 5–10 minutes. The area usually becomes numb as the cooling continues.

How long does a treatment take?

Most cycles take 35–45 minutes, depending on the applicator and treatment area.

Can I return to normal activities afterward?

Yes! There is no downtime. Most clients return to work, exercise, or errands immediately.

Results & Expectations

How soon will I see results?

Some changes appear as early as 3–4 weeks, with full results visible at 12 weeks.

How many sessions do I need?

Most people need 1–3 sessions per area, depending on the amount of fat and desired results.

Are the results permanent?

Yes—the fat cells destroyed are permanently eliminated. However, remaining fat cells can still grow if you gain weight.

How much fat does CoolSculpting remove?

Each treatment cycle can reduce fat in the area by 20–25% on average.

Safety & Side Effects

Is CoolSculpting safe?

CoolSculpting is FDA-cleared and has been used safely in millions of treatments worldwide.

What are common side effects?

  • Temporary redness, swelling, or bruising
  • Tingling, numbness, or sensitivity
  • Mild cramping or firmness
These resolve on their own within days to weeks.

What is PAH (Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia)?

A rare side effect (less than 1%) where treated fat becomes thicker and expands instead of shrinking. If it occurs, it is treatable, usually with liposuction.

Before & Aftercare

How should I prepare?

  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Stay hydrated
  • Avoid heavy meals right before treatment
  • Do not take blood-thinning medications unless cleared by your doctor

What should I expect after treatment?

  • Temporary numbness
  • Tenderness or itching
  • Some firmness in the area
These are normal and improve gradually.

What should I avoid after treatment?

You may resume everything immediately, but avoid intense massages or heating pads in the area for 24–48 hours.

Treatment Planning

Can CoolSculpting be combined with other treatments?

Yes—popular combinations include:

  • Skin tightening treatments
  • Lymphatic drainage massages
  • Muscle-toning devices (e.g., Emsculpt)

Will I lose weight from CoolSculpting?

No. You will likely look slimmer, but the scale may not change. CoolSculpting shapes the body rather than reduces total body weight.

What is laser hair reduction?

Laser hair reduction uses concentrated light energy to target and disable hair follicles, resulting in long-term hair reduction and smoother skin.

Is laser hair reduction permanent?

It offers long-term reduction, not 100% permanent removal. Most clients experience a significant, lasting decrease in hair growth. Occasional maintenance sessions may be needed.

How does the laser work?

The laser targets melanin (pigment) in the hair follicle. Heat travels down the shaft and disables the follicle’s ability to regrow hair.

Candidacy & Treatment Areas

Who is a good candidate?

Laser hair reduction works best on dark hair because it contains more pigment. It is safe for most skin tones with the appropriate laser settings.

Can lighter hair colors be treated?

Blonde, red, gray, and very light hair are less responsive due to lower pigment and may not achieve full reduction.

What areas can be treated?

  • Face: upper lip, chin, sideburns
  • Body: underarms, arms, bikini, Brazilian
  • Legs: full or partial
  • Back, chest, shoulders
  • Abdomen
  • Buttocks

Most areas with hair can be safely treated.

Treatment Experience

Does laser hair reduction hurt?

Most clients describe it as a quick snap or warm rubber-band feeling. Newer devices include cooling technology to increase comfort.

How long does the treatment take?

  • Small areas: 5–10 minutes
  • Medium areas: 15–30 minutes
  • Large areas (legs/back): 45–75 minutes

Is there downtime?

There is no downtime. Mild redness or warmth may last a few hours.

Results & Expectations

When will I see results?

You may notice less hair after the first session, but full results develop gradually over the treatment series.

How many sessions do I need?

Because hair grows in cycles, most people need 6–8 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, for optimal results.

Why do I need multiple sessions?

Laser only targets follicles in the active growth phase (anagen). Not all hairs are in this phase at once.

Will the hair grow back?

Treated hairs usually fall out within 1–3 weeks. Some regrowth can occur over time due to hormones or natural cycles, but hair is typically finer and lighter.

Safety & Risks

Is laser hair reduction safe?

Yes—when performed by a trained provider using appropriate settings for your skin type.

Possible side effects:

  • Temporary redness or swelling
  • Mild sensitivity
  • Rare: blistering, pigment changes (usually temporary)

Who should avoid treatment?

  • Pregnant individuals
  • Tanned or sunburned skin
  • Those using photosensitizing medications
  • People with active infections or open lesions in the area

Your provider will evaluate your medical history.

Before & Aftercare

How should I prepare?

  • Shave the treatment area 12–24 hours before
  • Avoid waxing, plucking, or depilatory creams for 4 weeks
  • No tanning or self-tanner for 2 weeks
  • Stop retinoids and exfoliants on the area 3–5 days prior

What should I avoid after treatment?

  • Sun exposure for 7–14 days
  • Hot showers, steam rooms, or intense exercise for 24 hours
  • Picking or scratching treated areas
  • Retinoids or acids for 3–5 days
  • Waxing or plucking between sessions

When can I wear makeup or apply products?

Once the redness subsides—usually within a few hours.

Treatment Planning

Can I shave between sessions?

Yes—shaving is recommended. Just avoid plucking or waxing, as these remove the follicle the laser needs to target.

Can laser hair reduction be combined with other treatments?

Yes, as long as scheduling is spaced to avoid irritation. Chemical peels, facials, or exfoliating treatments should not be done on the same day.

General Questions

What is Ultra Laser Resurfacing?

Ultra Laser Resurfacing is a skin rejuvenation treatment that uses controlled laser energy to remove damaged skin cells, stimulate collagen, and improve overall skin tone, texture, and clarity. It can be customized to be light, moderate, or deep depending on your skin goals.

What concerns does Ultra Laser Resurfacing treat?

  • Fine lines & wrinkles
  • Sun damage & age spots
  • Uneven texture
  • Large pores
  • Acne scars
  • Melasma (with lighter settings)
  • Rough or dull skin
  • Pigmented lesions
  • Mild to moderate skin laxity

How It Works

How does the Ultra laser work?

Is Ultra Laser Resurfacing ablative or non-ablative?

It can be either, depending on the level chosen:

  • Non-ablative (lighter): Targets deeper skin without removing the surface; minimal downtime.
  • Ablative (more intense): Removes thin layers of skin for dramatic results; longer downtime.

Your provider will match the treatment level to your needs.

Treatment Experience

Does the treatment hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as warm, tingling, or similar to a “sunburn.” Topical numbing is usually applied to keep you comfortable. Ablative settings may require additional numbing support.

How long does the treatment take?

Typically 15–45 minutes, depending on the area and treatment intensity.

Can all skin types be treated?

Lighter Fitzpatrick skin types are ideal for higher settings; most skin types can safely receive lighter, non-ablative treatments. Your provider will determine candidacy.

Downtime & Recovery

What is the downtime?

Downtime varies depending on the treatment depth:

  • Light resurfacing: 24–48 hours of redness and mild roughness
  • Moderate resurfacing: 3–5 days of redness, dryness, and “sandpaper” texture
  • Deep resurfacing: 5–10 days of redness, peeling, and swelling

What will my skin look like after the treatment?

Absolutely. Common pairings include:

  • BBL/IPL photorejuvenation
  • Microneedling (scheduled separately)
  • Botox / Dysport
  • Chemical peels
  • Hydrating facials once healed

Is Ultra Laser Resurfacing good for acne scars?

Yes—moderate to deep settings can significantly improve the appearance of acne scars over a series of treatments.

Is there a best time of year to get this done?

Most clients prefer fall and winter, when sun exposure is lower, but it can be done year-round with strict sun protection.

General Questions

What is a laser vascular treatment?

Laser vascular treatments use targeted light energy to heat and collapse unwanted blood vessels, helping reduce visible veins, redness, telangiectasia (broken capillaries), and vascular lesions.

What skin concerns does laser vascular therapy treat?

  • Facial redness
  • Broken capillaries
  • Spider veins
  • Rosacea-related vascular lesions
  • Cherry angiomas
  • Leg veins (small, superficial)
  • Poikiloderma (sun damage + redness on neck/chest)

Procedure Details

How does the laser work?

The laser targets hemoglobin (the red pigment in blood), heating the vessel until it collapses and is naturally absorbed by the body. Surrounding skin is minimally affected.

Does the treatment hurt?

Most clients describe a quick “snap” like a rubber band or mild heat sensation. Discomfort is generally minimal.

How long does the procedure take?

Treatments are typically 10–30 minutes, depending on the size and number of vessels being treated.

Is there downtime?

Most people have little to no downtime. Some redness, swelling, or mild darkening of vessels may appear for a few hours to a few days.

Results & Expectations

When will I see results?

Many clients see improvement immediately or within 1–2 weeks as treated vessels fade.

How many treatments will I need?

Small vessels may resolve in one session, but most clients need 1–3 treatments, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.

Are the results permanent?

Treated vessels usually do not return, but new vessels can form over time due to genetics, sun exposure, rosacea, or lifestyle factors. Maintenance may be needed.

Safety & Candidacy

Yes—vascular lasers are one of the most effective treatments for reducing rosacea-related redness and visible vessels.

General Questions

What is microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving texture, tone, and overall skin quality.

What concerns does microneedling treat?

  • Fine lines & wrinkles
  • Enlarged pores
  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Rough texture
  • Mild skin laxity
  • Dull or tired-looking skin

How It Works

How does microneedling stimulate collagen?

The tiny micro-injuries activate your skin’s natural healing process. As the skin repairs, it produces new collagen and elastin, leading to firmer, smoother, more youthful-looking skin.

Is microneedling the same as a dermaroller?

No. Professional microneedling devices penetrate the skin vertically and more precisely, offering better results and improved safety compared to at-home rollers.

Treatment Experience

Does microneedling hurt?

Most clients feel mild pressure or a prickling sensation. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to enhance comfort.

How long does a session take?

Typically 30–60 minutes, depending on the area treated and whether numbing time is included.

Is there downtime?

Downtime is minimal:

  • Day 1: Redness (similar to a sunburn)
  • Day 2–3: Pinkness, tightness
  • Day 3–5: Mild flaking or dryness

Most clients return to normal activities within 24 hours.

Results & Expectations

When will I see results?

Initial glow appears within 1–2 weeks. More significant improvements develop over 4–6 weeks as collagen builds.

How many treatments do I need?

For best results, most clients need:

  • 3–6 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart
  • Additional sessions for deeper acne scars or stretch marks

Are the results permanent?

Microneedling improves collagen and can provide long-lasting results, but natural aging continues. Maintenance is recommended every 4–6 months.

Safety & Candidacy

Is microneedling safe?

Yes—when performed by a trained professional with sterile equipment.

Who is a good candidate?

Microneedling is suitable for most skin types and tones, including sensitive skin.

Who should avoid microneedling?

  • Pregnant individuals (depending on serums used)
  • Those with active acne or infection in the area
